The original name of the Corn Festival Committee was Shippensburg Heritage and Recreation Planning Society, or SHARP. SHARP was a group of local residents alarmed by the demolition of some of the oldest buildings in their historic community. Their initial efforts focused on Shippensburg’s heritage, promoting awareness and preservation of the town’s rich architectural legacy that spans the 18th century to the present.

Sponsored by the New Cumberland Olde Towne Association, Apple Festival is held annually on the last Saturday in September in New Cumberland Borough Park. Visitors enjoy craft vendors, entertainment, food, and many activities for young and old. With more than 70 food vendors and 200 craft vendors, it’s sure to be a fun-filled day for all who attend!
